Some answers to your questions….

What is Couture Boudoir?
Boudoir is a French term that means bedroom…a bedroom is normally the number one intimate spot to take these types of photographs. In this case we will be in a suite and will have the ability to use all of it. So bedroom, living room, bathroom…

What is a Boudoir Marathon?
A marathon is a day where multiple sessions are scheduled. This way we can have an awesome location and a cheaper price for you! We have 5 sessions allowed for this day.

Who gets Boudoir pictures done??
Anyone! Lots of women like to get them done for the men in their lives. Whether it’s a birthday, holiday, wedding gift, or anniversary… there is always a reason to give this gift! Also men have recently gotten into this game as well! We strongly encourage anyone to get a session like this done for themselves… any size, shape, color, or sex.

Sure these shoots are designed with gifts in mind. However do it for you too! Who doesn’t want a beautiful picture of themselves? Instead of hating our bodies… lets celebrate them. I want you to walk away from this shoot feeling gorgeous, empowered and super happy with the experience.

I would never think of doing that… I am nervous… What is it like??? Everyone will be nervous… It’s not everyday we have our picture taken under these circumstances! When you arrive for your session you will get your hair and make up done. There will also be some bubbly and chocolates to help calm your nerves and give that extra bit of pampering experience! After you are fully pampered you will start to calm down. My job as your photographer is to make you feel at ease and beautiful. I would love to hear about anything you wanted to try and I will direct you with posing. This experience is meant to be liberating and fun!

Will other people see me in my outfits?
No. During the shoot it is only the people who have to be there, the two of us plus the make up artist. We try to insure privacy at all times and work around your comfort level.

What if I am uncomfortable with my body and do your retouch?
First of all you are beautiful. Secondly my job is to emphasize the positives and to minimize the areas you feel are less than perfect. I do retouch the photos, so your proofs will have basic edits and once you order prints those images will get the full on retouch. If you have question or concerns about retouching let me know.

Do you supply clothing or what should I bring?
We do not supply clothing.

This is classy, modern, sexy, fun, and beautiful boudoir. You should bring 3-4 outfits… Popular choices other than sheets are lingerie, tight jeans, cute tee shirts, baby doll dresses, corsets, garters, team jerseys, men’s dress shirts, thigh highs, fishnets, and most importantly high heels and fun jewelry. These are just examples… we can use anything you want to wear. We want these images to represent YOU and whatever makes YOU comfortable. One thing I do encourage is too stay away from lots of patterns. Solid colors are more flattering, but feel free to have fun with the color! Props are also a great addition… something of your significant other’s.. hats, ties, etc.

Do you have examples?

Absolutely! If you would like to meet with me, I can show you an example album, or email you some of my previous boudoir work.

Do you do nudes?

Sessions normally are “implied nude” only, but if you are interested in being nude. Just let me know ahead of your session.

Now that that is out of the way! Here are the deets…

Session: Your session includes location, make up, light hair styling, complimentary glass of bubbly and chocolate, 2 hours of shooting, and a $20 print credit. (Facebook fans – you get an extra 10% off of your print order).

If you prefer to do your own hair and make up, that is fine, however there is no discount.

The session fee is $200 and is due at the time of booking.

Upgrades:

5×5 album – $50

8×8 album – $100

Once the proofs are ready they will be put up in a private password protected gallery.

But then she got a little annoyed at me….

So we stopped the photo shoot until she fell asleep… and then started up again while she slept.

Like mother, like daughter

I loved how much Donna and Jim included their children in the ceremony – and the entire day.  Out of all the weddings I’ve been to, these kids definitely made my top ten list for best behaved (if not the best behaved).  They smiled for the camera, walked down the aisle without a moment of hesitation, danced the night away and didn’t cry or whine once (at least that I saw!).

But even the best kids in the world get a little tired during a wedding. 

So adorable.

Although, this was the first time I have seen a bouquet kick instead of catch…

These pictures don’t show it too well, but before Jim tossed the garter, the man who caught it was standing to the  left… He literally bolted across the floor to catch that garter (he’s actually right behind Jim in the first picture)

For awhile now, I’ve been looking for some options that will allow me to offer albums at a lower price without sacrificing the quality of the album… And I finally found some, while also being able to increase options for sizes and add options for those on a very strict budget.

First – Flush Mount Albums.

These are amazing. Seriously.  For the longest time, these were the only albums I offered because nothing else even comes close to their awesomeness.  These are the albums that are often called “magazine style” albums, because instead of having pictures attached to pages, your pictures are the pages… But unlike the true magazine style albums, the pages are thicker, sturdier, and waterproof.  With these albums you have the choice of having a Premium Leather Cover, or a Photo Cover – either one for the same price.  Previously I offered these in 8×8 and 10×10 sizes.

I have just added options for 8×10 and 12×12 albums, increased the amount of pages you can get in your albums and dropped the  prices of the 8×8 and 10×10 sizes when ordered apart from a wedding package.

These albums start at $450 for a 10 page (20 side) 8×8 album.  For a full list of prices, please contact me.

Second – Mounted Albums

Mounted albums have been something I stayed away from, mainly because I couldn’t find a supplier that matched great quality and great price.  Well, I finally did!

These albums have the pictures attached directly to the page, as opposed to the picture being the page as in the Flush Mount albums.   However, unlike “old style” albums, these do not have individual 4×6 pictures. The style of layout is similar to the Flush Mount albums, as it is a collage style print.

These albums start at as little as $100 for a 4×6 12 Page (24 side) album.  I know – you’re thinking a 4×6 album is pretty small, right?  Ok, to do a fair comparison, an 8×8 album with 12 pages (24 sides) is only $200.  That’s $250 less than the same size Flush Mount album (and you get 2 extra pages!).  These albums range in size all the way from 4×6 up to 12×12, giving you tons of options!

Want an even better deal?  If you order more than one of the exact same album (say, as a parents album?) you get anywhere from $25-$75 off the cost of the second album.  *Albums must be the exact same – including cover.

Do you see why I added these as options?  How could you go wrong with a full size wedding album for $200?

Third – Lay Flat Books

No, these are not albums.  Close though… These are truly magazine-style books.  They have hard covers, and much more flexible  pages (although they are thicker than a magazine). These are absolutely perfect for making a wedding guest book from your engagement pictures.  Just think, instead of having all of your guests sign a plain guest book, you could have them leave personalized messages to you surrounding your engagement pictures!  The 4×6 size is a perfect size to keep in your purse as a portable album to show off to anyone who wants to see your portraits or wedding pictures!

These books range in size from 4×6 all the way to 12×12 and start at as little as $60.

Fourth (and favorite!) – Canvas Gallery Wraps

Wow. If you are looking for a good way to display your portraits in your house, this is the way to go.  Whether it’s pictures from your wedding, family portrait sessions, newborn portraits, maternity portraits or any other pictures you might want to hang on your walls, you can’t go wrong with a canvas gallery wrap.

I had one made from one of my personal wedding pictures just to see how I liked it before offering it on here… I put it on my wall about a month ago, and seriously cannot stop looking at it.  I absolutely love that it took a gorgeous portrait and made it into an elegant work of art.  Instead of a frame where a picture falls to the background, the picture jumps right off the wall at you.

These come in 4 sizes: 8×10, 16×20, 20×30, and 24×36.  They start at $65 for an 8×10.

All of these products are available through my “Client Proofs” page.  After you enter an event, you can choose any one of these products on the bottom of the page. You can choose size and number of pages via a drop-down list.  You will be able to pick out the picture(s) for your album/book/canvas after you add the album, canvas or book to your cart.  I personally create the layouts for the albums and will make sure I get your final approval on the album layout before printing it.

For those of you who know me, you know that there isn’t much I won’t do for a picture… So I broke my own rules and decided to include wedding day coverage, because I couldn’t imagine missing the opportunity of photographing a wedding on top of this mountain.  Tom told me that the hike up was easy. I have since decided that Tom’s definition of “easy” isn’t the same as mine.  It wasn’t a terribly hard hike up, but it took me a lot longer than I expected it to take for an “easy” hike….

However, the view from the top was definitely worth it!

I was actually amazed at the amount of family and friends that made the hike up with Erin and Tom just to be there for their wedding.  They are definitely blessed!

(No, Tom and his groomsmen did not hike up in their suits! They changed at the top, as did the girls)

Two days later we got together for the reception.  Erin had asked me to get the traditional “getting ready” shots on this day.  It felt a little backwards taking pictures of everyone getting ready, the rings, and the dress when the ceremony had already taken place… But it made much more sense than taking pictures of people changing behind bushes on top of a mountain.

As I love the outdoors, I found myself wishing I had done this wedding before planning my own. Erin and Tom had so many ideas that I would have stolen for my wedding had I known about them!  The number one idea I would have stolen was their “guest book”.  Instead of having everyone write down their names, they had everyone help create the leaves for a tree with their thumbprints, and then sign their names.  So awesome!

And again, their cake was probably one of my all-time favorites.  Erin’s friend made it and did an amazing job.  It fit in perfect with the mountain top theme, and I loved the toppers!
