Your Special Day
I know how much time and energy goes into planning a wedding. I’ve been where you are now: with lists to be checked off, budgets to be followed, and decisions to be made. I also know that one of the lasting reminders of the day is your wedding photography.
When the party is over, the cake is eaten, and the flowers have withered – your pictures will still be hanging on your walls, displayed online, and in albums to be reminisced over in years to come. And while you want to cut corners wherever you can when planning a wedding, your photographs shouldn’t be something you compromise on. I want to make sure you don’t have to compromise at all!
I take a mix of traditional and photojournalistic photographs. I get the classic family and bridal party pictures, but I aim to tell the story of your love, excitement and joy through your photographs. I try to capture all of the details that mean so much to you without disrupting your wedding day. I want you to be able to look back at your wedding photographs and remember the day, without remembering a bossy photographer getting in the way of all your guests.
What to Expect
Before the Wedding:
All of my wedding packages include complimentary Engagement Portrait Sessions. This is something new I’ve added to all of my packages because it lets me get to know you better as a couple, without the stress of the wedding day schedule. These are almost always shot on location – which means you pick the place! It can be indoors, on a boat, in the woods, in a field, even in a stream if you want! About a month after the session I will get you a DVD of all the edited high resolution images with a reproduction release. They’re your pictures – you can print and share them how you choose!
On Your Wedding Day:
You can expect me to be 100% dedicated to you. I only do one wedding per day, so I can come early or leave late if something changes at the last minute. Because I want to capture the story of your day, I arrive early, not just right before the bride enters the church, and I don’t leave right after the first dances. I’m capturing your entire day – not just the “main points”.
I don’t run your day. This is about you, not me. I do ask for 30 minutes at the ceremony location (after your ceremony and before your reception) for family portraits. I suggest at least an hour on top of that for the bridal party and couple portraits at a location of your choice (or more than one location!). If you plan for more time than that between your ceremony and reception, even better! And even my request and suggestion are just to make sure you receive the pictures you want – if you decide you don’t want any bridal party pictures and really just want me to capture the event itself, without any posing, that is your choice.
After the Wedding:
I will be editing your pictures – constantly. I take a lot of pictures, and I personally edit every one to make sure they are all as perfect as can be. I want you to have a hard time choosing your favorites! Usually I put about 10 of my immediate favorites up on my blog and on my facebook within a couple days, because I know you’ll be anxious to see and share your pictures. After 2-3 weeks the rest of your pictures will be online (in my client proofs section – password protected at your request). You will have as much time as you want to look through them and choose the ones you want in your album and which you will buy with your print credits. After you have let me know which you want, I will have your photographs/album printed by a professional printing lab. When I get them back I will deliver the album/photographs to you, along with your DVD(s) of the edited high resolution images. Again, you don’t just get the 500 best – you get all of them, and can print and share them however you would like!
